I am a changed person, they now have me exercising regularly, I am doing gardening, I am increasing my computer skills and I have joined their group of dancers. I am so grateful to OPAM for I am learning to trust people more everyday. Thank you OPAM"
Background
OPAM was formed by a small group of African men living with HIV.
The lack of culturally relevent support drove this group of seven men including the current Tresurer.
From different African countries into forming this client centred and highly adaptable charitable organisation. It was registered as a charity on 7th of May 2000.
Our Mission
Empowering HIV positive African men regardless:
- Of sexual oriantation
- Improve quality of health and wellbeing
- Become self reliant, employable
- Build self esteem through a process of capacity
building in a culturally sensitive
manner.
